The upgrade item is an evolution product that allows trainers to evolve certain Pokemon into stronger forms. Silph Co. produces it.

This item is a scarce one but you can obtain it by spinning Photo Disks in PokeStops or Gyms.

It provides a set of additional bonuses It also comes with an upgrade track that limits the amount to which items can be upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools to give them an additional bonus to their attributes, or a special effect, while they are being used. They can be acquired by crafting, purchased from traders or vendors or looted as a reward. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Upgrade components fall into two categories: universal and type restricted.
