The Canasta

Canasta, one of the card games that is part of the Rummy series, was popular in America during 1950s. The object of the card game is to make melds (three cards or more of the same rank), and canastas (seven or more cards). The larger the meld, the more points you can earn. Jokers and 2s count as wildcards, however, a meld must have at minimum two natural cards in order in order to be considered valid. The first team to achieve 5,000 points wins the game.

Segundo Santos, a lawyer, and Alberto Serrato, an architect created Canasta while playing games of cards with friends in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1939. They wanted to create a card game that was more time-consuming than Bridge and less dependent on luck than Rummy. They combined elements of the games Bridge, Rummy and Conquan to create Canasta, a game which is a combination of strategy, chance and luck.

Each player receives 13 cards that are split into two piles: the hand and foot. Each player must then arrange a minimum three cards into columns. These are referred to as sets. A set consists of three or more identical cards, for example, three Fives or four Kings. Once a set has been completed the player will discard one card from his hand to the discard pile. He can't take any cards back into his hands until another turn.

The Chilada

This dish comes in a variety of flavors, and you can mix and mix the ingredients to create different recipes. Enchiladas are a classic Mexican dish, and can be made using either corn or flour-based tortillas.

It's time to ditch the margarita, and instead choose one of two refreshing low-alcohol beer drinks that are authentic to Mexico - the Chelada (cerveza preparada) or Michelada. Both drinks contain lime juice as well as a light beer and salt. The chilada is traditionally drunk without ice and instead served with a coarse rim of salt, often Tajin. The Blue Tornado is a regular superhero in the show. He has weather-related powers and was first seen when Kaz and Oliver visited Mighty Med. He appears as a tall man in blue attire and has the head of a tornado and is able to spin into a tornado-like trough at high speeds.

This attack knocks your opponents off their feet, then flings them and throws them into the air for a few seconds. This is especially effective against Egg Pawns without protection and Egg Knights, as well as opposing characters wearing shields.

When it is used against enemies flying through the air, the Blue Tornado can be combined with a forward jump to gain an additional height. Holding during or following the jump allows the participant to double jump. This technique can also smash shields off of enemies who do not wear them. This is a great way to swiftly take out larger enemies. The Blue Tornado is also useful to knock down flying enemies, since it can disrupt their flight patterns and make it easier to shoot down.

The Honeycomb

A chiminea can be an ideal option for outdoor spaces that are smaller than the full-size fireplace. The broad base tapers into a narrow chimney. Some designs have handcrafted features that enhance the look of your outdoor space. No matter what time of the year it is or a crisp autumn day, a chiminea brings warmth and an atmosphere to any backyard.

Honeycomb is a wonderful wonder of nature created by honeybees. It is a perfectly arranged hexagonal structure constructed out of natural beeswax and it's one of the most useful components of the hive. Honeycomb structures are utilized in a wide range of engineering and scientific fields.

The honeycomb hive serves three purposes: a nursery for new bees and a storage area for pollen until it is transformed into "bee bread," and a long-term storage space for the hive's reserves of nectar. If a hive has a swarm, the bees begin an entirely new hive with honeycomb as a foundation.

Bees create honeycombs by using their flight muscles to generate heat that softens the beeswax plates they secrete from their abdomens. They then shape the softened wax into cylinder shapes and connect them to adjacent cells on either side. This arrangement is extremely constant, indicating that it's not just the result of blind physical forces, but rather a highly structured pattern of construction behavior. This is also an example of convergent evolutionary change where a similar characteristic appears independently in closely related species.

The Footsteps

Footsteps is the only organization in North America that supports people who have left or are contemplating leaving the ultra-Orthodox community in which they live as they create their own self-determined lives. Through peer and staff-led programming, we provide a safe and stabilizing space as our members shift from a world designed for them to a world that is full of possibilities.

We envision a world in which all those who choose to leave insular religious communities are provided with the tools to live fulfilling and independent lives. Your gift at the end of the year helps us to achieve this goal by providing educational scholarships microgrants, career assistance, microgrants, social activities, and more for people at every stage of their transition from ultra-Orthodox living.
