Item upgrades are a key aspect of preparing your character. Upgrades increase item damage and enhancements.

They also provide bonuses and improvements. They are available through the Blacksmith.

Players can recycle any item by pressing the upgrade items button on it. Each recycled item adds one level to the gauge for upgrading.

Weapon

If a weapon is upgraded, it gets a base damage bonus, as well as an increase in the scaling factor that affects other stats. Certain upgrade components come with cosmetic effects and others provide additional attributes. These upgrades can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets and gathering tools. The majority of them require that the equipment is equipped with an upgrade slot and meets certain specifications. The upgrade component can be removed from the weapon, armor, or trinket, but it cannot be replaced. (Except for legendary equipment). Upgrade components can be recovered by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool, or by using a high-end salvage tool on the item upgrade the item.

In addition to the normal upgrades, a weapon can be upgraded with an attribute called Calibration that increases certain stats like Weakspot Damage or Crit Rate. This is accomplished through the Gear Workbench's interaction menu. Based on the level of the weapon, this can be done up to four times.

Once the weapon has reached its maximum level of improvement and is then rebuilt to add additional bonuses and effects, or to improve specific stats. These upgrades can all be applied at once, and their effects will vary depending on how rare the weapon is.

Two Blacksmiths are able to perform these upgrades in the game: Blacksmith Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace and Smithing Master Hewg at the Church of Elleh hub. Both require different upgrade materials: Smithing Stones for standard weapons and Somber Smithing Stones for modifying the damage a weapon can cause.

Generally, it is advised to improve weapon damage first, then armour defense, then the other secondary stats that are required by your build. In particular, it is common to see melee druids upgrade their weapon before any other gear, because it can increase DPS. This is particularly applicable to enchantments, which are extremely effective in boosting a weapon's damage and other stats.

Armor

Item Upgrades allow players to increase the stats base of certain armor pieces trinkets, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. These upgrades may also provide additional effects, for example, more damage or cosmetic enhancement. Item Upgrades can be obtained through crafting, buying from NPC vendors, or in loot drops, or as quest rewards.

The upgrade of armor can be done by visiting the Armorer NPC and spending appropriate currency. Most armor will upgrade to the next level after an upgrade. This is the case for any type of armor, but certain items are not upgradeable at all (such as the armor used to start in Great Sky Island).

Most armor upgrades increase the item's defense or strength by only a tiny amount. However, certain upgrade components can provide significant increases to strength or defense, particularly when upgrading an epic item.

Certain upgrades grant special abilities which can be activated while wearing armor. These abilities can be beneficial in combat, such as giving a boost to attack speed or blocking. Some upgrades also provide useful passive effects, such as reducing the amount of damage sustained while wearing armor or granting a chance to dodge attacks.

Based on the type of armor being used, upgrading an item could require multiple attempts. If a player is looking to upgrade Steelclash armor to Dragonscale and the first attempt will result in a brand new Dragonscale armor with an armor base defense of 59-67. The second attempt will result in a brand new Dragonscale armor that has a base defense between 67-77, and it goes on.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild lets players to upgrade their armor sets to level 4. To do this, players must visit the four Great Fairy Fountains found in the game. Each of these locations holds the power of a fairy who can upgrade a piece of armor for the player.

Contrary to what many believe armor isn't useless in The Division 2. The reality is that certain armors come with very substantial enhancements to poison or curse, fire, or magic damage reduction, which makes them extremely useful for certain types of builds. There are also ways to improve armor stats beyond the use of upgradeable armor such as the engineer trait that increases armor penetration or the challenger trait that reduces the weight of the entire armor.

Potion

A potion can be upgraded by putting it in the brewing stand to unlock new effects. The upgrade unlocks a new effect tier, and can be repeated to increase the potency.

The potions also have an individual color, which can be chosen by the player via /give. The color affects the effect clouds' area-of-effect as well as the arrows generated. In Bedrock Edition, the custom potion color also applies to the effects of the potion's particle effects.

In the Creative Inventory potion healing and weakness have been added. There are lingering potions available that can be made with dragon breath or splash potions and a thick pot that has the status effect of Mining Fatigue (duration 4:45). Bug Tracker is the place for you to report issues with this patch.

Trinket

A trinket is a small, inexpensive ornament or piece jewelry. This can be a necklace, ring or even a small flag used to mark a boat's lateen yard. It could also be a reference to a gilded trinket on the mast of a ship.

This bizarre trinket appears to be influencing the inhabitants of this maze which makes them more prevalent. At present the trinket makes all kinds of mimic Xx more prevalent, and gives each floor the chance to have an ebony-colored mimic. This trinket costs a moderate amount of energy to upgrade.

The magic of the enchanted scepter is believed to be affecting the dungeon itself, making it more likely to generate grass and water. At the moment, this trinket makes X% of the floors fill with grass or water, however it won't affect enchantments or the glyphs, cursed weapons, armor, or items generated to solve hazard rooms.

This item level upgrade, which appears like a newt's eyes appears to alter your vision in a way that goes beyond simply reducing your field-of-view. This trinket, at the moment level, increases the health gained by drinking potions of healing and wells of life by X% and also gives mind sight to enemies within the Y tile. This trinket is not stacked with the Heightened Senses.

After you have completed the Mastery Cave After completing the Mastery Cave, you will be able to find Trinkets by defeating Monsters and inside chests and crates in Skull Cavern. They cannot be found in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon.

Place the trinket in the Anvil whenever it is required to be upgraded. This will have a random impact on the trinket either prolonging its life or enhancing its effects. You can reforge the Trinket as many times as you'd like but it will always have a new effect.

You can also enhance your Trinkets by placing them in a Magical Catalyst at the Alchemy Station. It will cost you 6 energy, however it will increase the power of the trinket by a small amount.
