Line-up

The album's third, Turn Back, marked a return to the classic sextet style of the previous albums. It was a more ferocious, consistent effort that had an edge that was more pronounced than Hydra. Its more punk-rock sound was indicative of the maturation of group, with drummer Bobby Kimball's improved virtuosity on drums, and an improved, mature vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard work was also more sophisticated, sharper and less akin to previous recordings.
