The spring lever design allows the handle to be positioned and angled to provide a comfortable grip and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested to 200,000 cycles, which helps to ensure the quality of the finish and performance of the handle for patio door over time. The sprung lever can also be cut to fit the widest range of locks. This is useful for narrower doors where the cylinder is further back from the door. A shortened lever can also be used on doors with a latch that can be opened by the thumb inside.

Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle differs from the lever handles that are commonly found on doors. The handle can operate from a single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two inline or offset spindles (pad). They are generally used on UPVC double glazing door handles-glazed doors and are available in a variety of variations and styles.

The handles have been tested to a minimum of 200k cycles and are available in several finishes like White, Silver, Chrome & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to corrosion. This gives the handle the best performance and long-lasting durability for its intended purpose.

All of the UPVC lever pad designs come with screws and a spindle, allowing them to be fitted on a new or existing uPVC door. The 211mm backplate fixing centres allow for a larger size handle that can be beneficial in replacing a defective or worn multi point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are sprung, solving the problem of door handles sagging out of their horizontal position when they are not being used.

It is important to ensure that the PZ dimensions for both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when selecting a replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is also called 'handle centre' or cylinder centres'. It is important for matching the correct handles.

Once you have the correct PZ size, you'll have to ensure that the handle lever pads and push pads are of a appropriate shape to accommodate the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant handles that you need for your doors. These are typically round or square with an internal lever and an external push pad.

The majority of UPVC lever pads that we offer are sprung, which means that they will return to their horizontal position when not in use, instead of hanging out and possibly sticking in the frame. This stops draughts and cold air from entering a home. It is also the case that the majority of UPVC lever pad old aluminium window handles are swivel, allowing you to install them on either side of the door.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other types of doors. Cylinder locks are operated by using a key that unlocks the cylinder case. The case is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned to those inside the lock and allow them to rotate the camera that rotates, opening the door. Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins. Doors that are internal and external require different levels of security.

Selecting the right cylinder for your needs is crucial; it is dependent on how your doors and handle are used. For instance, doors that are external should be fitted with a higher security cylinder, while doors inside can be secured using the standard cylinder. Some cylinders have extra features that can improve security, for instance, anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is the correct size for your door, it must be measured accurately. The cylinder must be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn in the event that one is present. It is recommended to do this with the lock in place however when this isn't possible, you can remove it to measure. A cylinder that is protruding beyond the handle and escutcheon could be susceptible to attacks like snapping locks, so it is crucial that it is not too long.

The design of most newer cylinders comes with anti-drilling as well as bump resistance features. They are designed to decrease the chance of attack by forcing cylinders to turn in a new direction. This can help deflect the attack, and ensure your patio door handle locks is secure.

Some cylinders are designed to resist snapping. This is an increasingly common kind of attack on cylinders, where the break line in the lock is targeted using a special tool to break off the front of the cylinder and allow the door to open. This is much quicker and more straightforward than opening the door with multipoint locks. It also leaves little evidence of a break-in which can impede the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette sits inside the base of the door handle backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution to return the multipoint lock handles back to their original position after using. These handles used to have no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disengaged. This simple feature is among the best ways to correct this and it is also a great way to prevent your doors made of upvc from becoming stuck in either closed or open position, as they are not always easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes are specially designed for use with sprung multipoint locks but they won't work with non-sprung multipoint handles. You will need to have a custom hole cut into your backplate to allow these to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram). They are a replacement for existing broken or missing cassettes in the door handle backplate of numerous kinds of uPVC doors. They are sold as a single unit. They come with a square cut out that can accommodate an 8mm shaft.

These spring cassettes are a great value solution to the problem of sagging door handles. They are simple to put in and will increase the life span of your uPVC doors.
