It is a crucial factor in maximizing the potential of your gear. It lets you add additional stats to the base value of your item.

Upgrade components

As part of the 2.0 update the method of upgrading the armor and weapons in Cyberpunk has been reworked. Upgrade components are available throughout Night City, and the item upgrade that you want to upgrade must have an upgrade slot. When you select an item to upgrade it will show an overview of what the expected statistics will be following upgrading, and the component or material required. If you don't have the required level of component or resource to upgrade the item, then the button will read "Blocked."
