Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and four live albums. There are also a few compilations. In addition to releasing original music, Toto has also done work with other artists and on soundtracks for films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards.

Before Toto was formed The members of the band performed session work for other musicians. David Paich, the son of session drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all played on Boz Scaggs’ 1975 album Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in 1976 as a result of the collaboration.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics due to the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Fredericksen resigned, and the band held auditions to find a replacement frontman. The band selected guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.

In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by scouring through demos and tapes from the past to release a special album called Toto XX. The album was well-received by fans, and Toto embarked on a tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

While touring for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun, drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included live recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.

Toto has released numerous music videos. The group has released a number of compilation videos and DVDs. The band's most popular video is "Africa" which has over one billion views. The video is set in a library and shows the band performing in front of a stack of books about Africa.
