Jack Catterall: Most observers and fans scored Catterall winning a close decision over the then undisputed champion Taylor last year. Securing a rematch vs. Taylor has proved to be fruitless for Catterall. It has been talked about that Catterall may be in line for the winner of the Taylor vs. Lopez match, but Catterall should probably look at other options rather than waste time negotiating with Taylor again. Each weight class conducts preliminary and qualification bouts, for all represented classes where the number of entrants requires multiple match-ups before the finals, with the match-ups of the lightest weight class requiring such fighting first and continuing with each subsequent higher weight class as required, further, second, third and fourth round match-ups may be required to complete the schedule using the same weight class progression to ultimately reach the final

The junior welterweight division has a weight range of 135 lbs - 140 lbs. While these men are on the smaller side, they sure pack a punch. This division is home to some of the most competitive and anticipated fights in recent years with undisputed champions and former undisputed champions such as Regis Prograis, Teofimo Lopez, and Josh Taylor. The belts are currently shared between Prograis, Lopez, Rolly Romero and Subriel Matias.
